That's right my favorite day of the week. Ode to Fridays how I loathe thee (this is a joke btw if you don't get it research your Dream Theater history). Tomorrow Dale and I will be attending the Dream Theater show at Hard Rock Live in Orlando. Should be a grand time, if you have nothing to do you should check it out. In other news I recently joined a Raiders booster club that is starting up in the Tampa Bay area, called the Florida Bay Area Raiders Boosters. Basically we will get together to watch Raiders games and have fun. Other than that I will be relaxing this weekend and hopefully get the grass mowed.
I leave you with the music of my weekend Dream Theater
So in case you haven't heard the Spice Girls are getting back together. I would post a picture of the reunited group by I don't want to waste my time. This makes me wonder why I have never made it farther then I have in music. This sad, pathetic, excuse for a band is going on tour this summer so get ready I guess.
Click the above link to enjoy my personally created radio station. It has some of my favorite songs and is a continuous mirror to my music as I listen. Enjoy
Are you going to a concert this weekend? Have you seen the pits and have always been curious, but are concerned that you may come out with a broken face? With a little know-how and a lot of courage, you can make your way through a mosh pit and who knows? You might jump right back in.
5. Better than Ezra
Better Than Ezra made a name for it self in 1994 with the hits “In the Blood” and the ever popular “Good”. They would go on to produce hits throughout the 1990’s including songs like “Desperately Wanting” and the hit “Extra Ordinary” in 2001. Their last album, Before the Robots, was released in 2005.
4. Candlebox
Who could forget Candlebox? The band was wildly successful in 1994 with the hits “You” and “Far Behind” off their self titled album, and would only go on to record two more albums (”Lucy” and “Happy Pills”) before disappearing for a while. Word on the street is that the band is back together and set to release an album sometime this year.
3. Silverchair
While many have forgotten about Australian rockers Silverchair, their true fans have not, as Silverchair have gone on to continue to make critically acclaimed album after album, and are set to release “Young Modern” in April. Many remember them from the hit “Tomorrow” which was released in 1995 while the band was still in high school.
2. Toad the Wet Sprocket
While having numerous hits in the early ’90’s, everybody throws their hands up when they hear the name “Toad the Wet Sprocket”. Then they’re reminded of the hits “All I Want”, “Somethings Always Wrong”, “Good Intentions”, “Fall Down”, and “Walk on the Ocean”. Like many of these bands, they are back together and touring, so you still have a chance to check them out.
1. Gin Blossoms
“Hey Jealousy”, “Allison Road”, “Until I Fall Away”, “Found Out About You”, “‘Follow You Down”, and “Till I Hear It From You”; who could ever forget the Gin Blossoms? They’ve been on the road for the past year promoting their latest album, “Major Lodge Victory”.
Hope you have enjoyed this blast from the past. The 90’s may be remembered for a lot of things, but for this blogger, the memories will always be about the music.
(Thank you to evolvor.com for this but I thought it was some awesome memories so here you go)
